2024/25 Ghana Premier League week one: Medeama 1-0 Accra Lions – Report

Medeama SC kicked off their title charge with a narrow 1-0 win over Accra Lions on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in match week one of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.

The only goal of the game was scored by Osah Bernardinho Tetteh in the second half during the hosts’ first official game at the renovated Tarkwa and Aboso Sports Stadium.

The first 45 minutes were tightly contested and ended goalless. However, shortly after the break, the home side finally broke the deadlock with a penalty. Osah Bernardinho Tetteh kept his composure to convert from 12 yards and score Medeama’s first goal at the renovated TNA Stadium.

The Yellow and Mauves will next face Legon Cities in match week two on Sunday, September 14, 2024. While Medeama will be looking to secure two wins in two matches, the hosts will be aiming for their first win after losing their opener to Bibiani Gold Stars.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions will regroup and face newly promoted Vision FC at the Accra Sports Stadium a day earlier than Medeama’s next game.
