Belgian forward of Ghanaian descent, Jeremy Doku was in action for Belgium on Monday afternoon when the Red Devils suffered a shock narrow defeat to Slovakia.

Belgium and Slovakia locked horns today in their first game in Group E of the 2024 European Championship.

In a game of many chances, both national teams created a lot of chances.

Unfortunately, the fans could not see a lot of goals with just one effort ending up in the back of the net.

A solitary equalizer from Ivan Schranz in the 7th minute of the first half secured victory for Slovakia to stun Belgium.

In the game today, Ghanaian player Jeremy Doku started for Belgium and played 84 minutes before making way for Lois Openda.

The Manchester City forward was a threat throughout his time on the pitch but his attacking prowess could not do the magic for Belgium.

The result leaves Belgium in third position in the Group E standings at the ongoing 2024 European Championship in Germany.
