2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Ghana coach Otto Addo to field strong squad against Niger

Published on: 09 September 2024

Ghana coach Otto Addo and his charges are poised to make amends in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following defeat against Angola last week.

However, the Black Stars tactician is expected to field a strong squad to contest for their first win of the qualifiers.

Addo has done a lot the past few days to psyche his players up after their disappointing defeat to the Palancas Negras. Ghana suffered their first defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium for the first time in 24-years.

Ghana will be without Jerome Opoku due to an injury setback whiles Joseph Painstil, who made substitute appearance against Angola withdraws from the Niger’s clash to sort out his passport issues.

Aside these two players, Otto Addo has 22 players available for the much-anticipated clash.

Forward Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru could start for the Black Stars after making substitute appearance against Angola.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey is expected to lead the team against Angola in the must-win clash this evening.

The game between Ghana and Niger will be held at the Stade Municipal Berkane, Morocco.
