Ghana head coach Otto Addo expressed his belief that his side deserved at least a draw in their 1-0 loss to Angola during a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday evening.

Angola's substitute, Milson, scored the decisive goal in additional time, ending Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten run at the stadium. Both teams struggled to maintain possession on the difficult, bumpy pitch.

In a post-match press conference, Addo reflected on the game, saying, "We were lucky maybe a little bit even though we deserved to win in Mali I think but there we scored the goal and now it’s Angola who scored the goal and I think at least a draw would have been deserved but this is football."

Ghana will now look to bounce back in their next qualifier against Niger, set for Monday, September 9th, as they aim to keep their AFCON qualification campaign on track.
