2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Otto Addo unhappy with Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Niger

Ghana coach Otto Addo expressed his dissatisfaction with the Black Stars' 1-1 draw against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

In an interview with Ghana Football Association Communications after the game, Addo criticized his team's performance, especially in the final minutes.

"Definitely not, I am not satisfied at all. I am really disappointed to be honest. We talked and we trained on set pieces, we talked about situations which could happen and the way they defended in the last 10 minutes was really, really bad. I think in general we had the game under control. We allowed sometimes some counter situations where we don't close the gaps really well and then we got the lead. I think from that point things were easier," he said.

Defender Alidu Seidu gave Ghana the lead in the 44th minute with a thunderous shot, assisted by Mohammed Kudus. However, Niger responded in the 81st minute through Oumar Sako, who netted the equalizer with an assist from Moussa Kassa Moudou.

Following a 1-0 defeat to Angola in their first Group F match, Ghana now faces a critical doubleheader against Sudan in their quest to secure qualification.
