Ghana defender Daniel Amartey has been ruled out of the 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Comoros due to injury.

Amartey was forced off with an injury during Ghana's 1-0 triumph over Madagascar last Friday.

The Besiktas centre-back, was unable to complete Friday's match for Ghana, being substituted due to an injury setback. He was replaced by Kasim Nuhu as the Black Stars picked a crucial narrow win over Madagascar.

Amartey has failed a late fitness test and will not be available for selection when the Black Stars take on Comoros in the second Group I game at the Moroni Stadium on Tuesday.

The medical team of the Black Stars intends to leave Amartey out of the Comoros game, although MRI scan did not reveal any obvious injury.

The Black Stars are already in Comoros ahead of the much-anticipated game on Tuesday afternoon. The team held their first training session in Comoros on Sunday and are expected to round up preparation today for Tuesday’s showdown.
