Black Stars forward Inaki Williams has revealed that his teammates have nicknamed him ‘Kwaku the Baller’ after his first goal for Ghana.

The Athletic Club man scored a 95th minute winner for the Black Stars in their first 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old had gone 11 games without scoring for Ghana, with conversations being had about the possibility of relegating him to the bench.

Iñaki Williams delivered at the most crucial moment against the Barea, nodding in a perfect Gideon Mensah cross to hand Ghana crucial three points.

Speaking after the game, Inaki opened up about what his teammates are saying about him after the game.

“The Almighty made this possible for me. All my teammates are calling me ‘Kwaku the Baller’. I’m so happy. I can only say thank you. Gideon Mensah put in a good cross and I scored the goal. I’m so happy.”
