2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Under-fire Chris Hughton seek return to winning ways after back to back to defeats in October

Ghana coach Chris Hughton has attention fixed on next week’s 2026 World Cup qualifications, as he aims to lead the Black Stars to return to winning ways following an unimpressive performance last month.

Ghana succumbed to defeat to Mexico and USA during the October international break. In fact, the Black Stars endured a difficult break, losing 2-0 to Mexico before suffering a heavy defeat to the USA (4-0).

Hughton, a former Premier League manager has come under intense pressure following the Black Stars unimpressive performance in recent games.

However, he will be hoping to turn things around when the Black Stars take on Madagascar and Comoros in the opening World Cup qualification games.

It appears Ghanaians have lost hope in Hughton and thus, he must to restore confidence with an impressive results in the back to back games this month.

The four-time Africa Cup of Nations winners will host Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium on November 17 before facing Comoros at the Moroni Stadium on November 21, 2023.

The former Premier League manager has today, November 9, 2023 released a 25-man squad for the opening two World Cup qualifying games.

Captain Andre Ayew has made a return to the squad despite being unattached as well as Jojo Wollacot, Majeed Ashimeru, Osman Bukari and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
