World football governing body, FIFA has decided to create a new special ranking for Africa to be released later this month.
The decision comes in the wake of a the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) lodging a formal complaint to FIFA to express their displeasure over the June 2016 Special rankings.
FIFA released the special rankings on 9th June 2016 which saw Egypt drop two places and eventually and replaced by Tunisia in Pot 1 in African region of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The EFA were outraged by the development and filed a formal petition to FIFA which promted a response regarding a special ranking for Africa.
