The head coach of the Ghana women’s senior national team, Nora Hauptle has opened up on the pressure that comes with coaching the side.

According to her, a huge pressure was taken off when the Black Queens sealed qualification to the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

"I'm also human you know. It was a big pressure and you know you need to deliver. Of course, it was a big release,” Coach Nora Hauptle said.

In the final round of the qualifiers to the WAFCON, the Swiss tactician led the Black Queens to beat Namibia 3-1 in the first leg at home.

In the reverse fixture, the Black Queens for the first time under Coach Nora Hauptle suffered a 1-0 defeat.

Despite the result, the Black Queens secured qualification to the WAFCON with a 3-2 aggregate win.

The feat brought so much to Ghanaians as coach Nora Hauptle was praised for an impressive job done.

She now has to prepare the Black Queens for the upcoming tournament. It will be the first time the Ghana women’s senior national team will be playing at the tournament in six years.
