Abdul Aziz Yakubu named man of the match in Wuhan Three Towns FA Super Cup win against Shandong

Abdul Aziz Yakubu was named man of the match for his outstanding performance in Wuhan Three Towns victory against Shandong in the Chinese FA Super Cup final.

Aziz scored in his first official game for the Wuhan-based outfit. The Ghanaian joined the club on loan from Rio Ave in March.

The Blues beat Shandong 2-0 in the encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu started the game wearing the number nine and leading Wuhan Three Towns attack against a Shandong side with former Everton and Manchester United player Fellaini in their squad.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu was supported in the attack by Pengfei Xie and Davidson.

The former Estoril striker scored the game's first goal and his first strike for his club in the 10th minute. Aziz headed in a low cross from Shihao Wei from the left side of attack.

After halftime, Shandong made some changes and brought on fresh legs ( Fellaini, Binbin Liu, and Tong Wang).

Pengfei Xie scored Wuhan Three Towns second goal in the 56th minute from a Nicolae Stanciu pass. Shandong had a goal canceled by VAR and Jun-ho Son was sent off in the 88th minute.

Aziz was substituted in the 90th minute, he was replaced by Brazilian attacker Ademilson.
