Abdul Fatawu Issahaku joins Black Stars camp for Ivory Coast & Morocco friendlies after sealing move to Sporting Lisbon

Ghana forward,  Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has joined the Black Stars camp for the upcoming international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

Fatawu Issahaku joined his teammates at the Black Stars camping base in Cape Coast for the double-header friendlies this month.

The 19-year-old was in Portugal to seal a move to Sporting Lisbon on loan from Liverpool after his earlier move to German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen collapsed.

The enterprising forward courted interest from several clubs in Europe including Bayer Leverkusen, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg among others after an explosive performance at the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations staged in Mauritania.

He previously featured for the Ghana U17 team before gaining promotion to the U20 side to make his bow during the U20 Africa Cup of Nations at age 16.

Fatawu Issahaku managed to score two goals and an assist in 6 matches during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tourney held in Mauritania.

He was named the best player after the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations tournament.

Isshaku's blistering output in the local scene earned the teenager a maiden call-up to the senior national team of Ghana for this international friendlies against Ivory Coast and Morocco and will be hoping to make the cut for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] in Cameroon..
