Despite only joining AC Milan this summer, midfielder Alen Halilovic appears to be nearing the exit door, with the Rossoneri willing to allow the Croatian to leave on loan.

Since Elliott Fund Management took control of the Diavolo, new sporting director Leonardo has been slowly clearing the club of the work of predecessor Massimiliano Mirabelli and is even considering moving on arrivals from earlier this summer.

According to Calcio News 24, Samu Castillejo’s arrival from Villarreal and Andrea Bertolacci returning from Genoa means there is no room in coach Genarro Gattuso’s squad for Halilovic, and Spanish duo Girona and Espanyol have expressed their interest.

After being lauded as a teenage prodigy with Dinamo Zagreb, the youngster headed to LaLiga, signing for Barcelona, and in the last three seasons enjoyed loan spells with Sporting Gijon and Las Palmas.
