Accra Hearts of Oak PRO Opare Addo denies reports of club releasing 18 players

Accra Hearts of Oak's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Opare Addo, has dismissed recent media reports suggesting that the club is planning to part ways with 18 players.

The Ghana Premier League side has been the subject of speculation regarding a major squad overhaul during the ongoing transfer window.

Speaking to Peace FM, as monitored by footballghana.com, Addo clarified that the club has not made any decisions to release such a large number of players. He explained that the coach typically presents a comprehensive report at the end of the season, which may suggest loaning or transferring some players.

The Phobians have already announced two new signings as part of their efforts to strengthen the team.

"What I know is that coach after the entire season presents his comprehensive reports those that he thinks that we should put them on loan or shift them out of the place so that he brings some in as and when everything is concluded I am sure we will not hide it from the public," he said.

"Once again let me say that any decision that the club will take we will need the support of every Phobian everywhere so that we go through it together. No it will not come on (parting with 18 players) I am not in the mind of the coach but we will not engage in that mass recruitment.

"Like what it is done everywhere in the section of the media once you are a big club once the season ends everybody or most people will like to create news items around your content or create content with your image so that they will be able to reach out to their followers or readers.

"So for me let me tell every body that that list going around it is not coming from the club it is based on rumors and we expect that whatever decision that the coach takes we will let everybody know. But whatever is going out there everybody should treat it as rumour it is not coming from the club,"
