National Division One League side, Accra Lions FC have secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League next season after emerging as winners from Zone II.
The Accra-based outfit started the 2020/2021 lower-tier league in good spirits as they went head to head with favourites Tema Youth.
Today at the Nugua Park, Accra Lions locked horns with Danbort FC knowing that a win would seal promotion for them to play in the Ghana Premier League next season.
In the fierce encounter that ensued, Accra Lions got the job done thanks to a brace from Dominic Nsobila and a strike from Oliver Amedor.
Winning 3-1 at the end of the contest, Accra Lions have historically clinched promotion to the Premier League.
The team joins Bibiani Gold Stars as the two teams that have qualified for the top-flight league.
One spot is still up for grabs in Zone I.
Meanwhile, the likes of Inter Allies FC, Ebusua Dwarfs, and Liberty Professionals have been relegated from the Ghana Premier League.
