‘Accra Lions defeat very disappointing’ - Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo

Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo has described their 3-2 defeat to Accra Lions as very disappointing.

The Porcupine Warriors never looked like it and were hit with the game’s first goal after just 11 minutes through Blessing Asumah Dankwah before Kola Ouattarq dragged Kotoko level at the break.

Speaking after the game, David Ocloo emphasised the fact that the team losing to an Accra Lions was disappointing.

“Yes, like you rightly said, it is very, very disappointing. But congratulations to Accra Lions, they played well and they deserved to win,” he told StarTimes after the game.

“Accra Lions run more than us; football now is about running and they did it better than us today and they got the game.”

Despite the loss and now their second in a row - Asante Kotoko are still fourth on the league standings with 32 points - three behind leaders Samartex while Accra Lions have moved from 14th to 10th on the table with 27 points.

Kotoko will hope to return to winning ways when they travel to play Aduana Stars in the Matchday 21 games at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
