Bristol City have confirmed the signing of defender Adam Webster from Ipswich on a four-year deal.

The 23-year-old was officially unveiled by the club on Thursday, and becomes the second signing of the summer.

Webster has signed for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £3.5m.

"I am delighted to get this deal done," manager Lee Johnson told the club website.

"We strongly believe in Adam's ability and he is a player we have been tracking for a long time."

"He has proved himself as a top Championship defender and I look forward to seeing him play alongside our current centre-halves."

"He comes with real quality on the ball and we believe we can be the vehicle for him to go to the very top, hopefully with us."

Webster started his career with Portsmouth, where he featured 81 times having made his debut in 2012.
