The nearly selected captain hopes to lead his country to retain the trophy after failing several times.
He won the FIFA U-20 World Cup on the same soil in 2009 as the captain of the team and his hopeful of lifting the AFCON trophy as well.
In a pre match press conference he said “With the quality Ghana has, if every player gives his 100%, we will shock everyone”.
“I am very confident because we are coming into the tournament with good preparations and i have confidence in my team and that doesn’t mean we are underrating any team, we will work hard and get results match after match”.
Ghana starts their AFCON campaign tomorrow in Group F against the Squirrels of Benin at the Ismailia Stadium.
