The Black Stars of Ghana is set to battle with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the round of 16 of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament later today at the Ismailia Stadium.

The two countries have enjoyed different tales since the start of the tournament. Ghana who started slow at the group stage after drawing her first two matches finished off in style to win her final game to ensure she emerged as Group F winners ahead of defending champions Cameroon.

Tunisia, on the other hand, failed to win any of her three matches in Group E but still managed to clinch second place which was good enough at the end of the preliminary stage to see her progress into the round of 16.

Ahead of today’s fixture, the talking points are surely going to be whether Ghana will continue her dominance over the North Africans or if the Tunisians will beat the West African giants for the first time in the history of the AFCON.

Out of the previous seven meetings between the two, the Black Stars have managed to win 6 and drew just 1 in the process to underline how superior they are when they come up against the Carthage Eagles.

Nonetheless, the match is going to be a tough one with either side expected to mount a good strategy to try and outclass the other in a bid to win at the end of the day to secure qualification to the quarter-finals.

The match will be played at the Ismailia Stadium and is expected to kick off at exactly 19:00GMT.
