AFCON 2019: John Boye returns from suspension to face Guinea Bissau

Published on: 02 July 2019

Black Stars defender John Boye has returned from suspension to face Guinea Bissau after missing Ghana’s group F match against Cameroon last Friday.

The FC Metz center-back received a red card in the second half of Ghana’s opening match against the Squirrels of Benin on June 25, 2019. His sending off as expected resulted in him missing the team’s next match in the tournament.

Having served his suspension, he has been included in Coach James Kwesi Appiah’s starting line up ahead of Ghana’s final group match against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau.

The dependable defender will pair Joseph Aidoo in the center of defense with support from Andy Yiadom and Baba Abdul Rahman on the right-back and left-back positions respectively.

The Stars need to pick up all points from the match today to ensure they secure qualification into the round of 16.
