Shanghai Shenhua and Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has stressed that they are ready for their quarter-finals clash with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The two heavyweights of Africa football will lock horns in a mouthwatering encounter to battle for a place in the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament which has so far lived up to expectations.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference yesterday, Nigerian attacker Odion Ighalo noted that though they faced South Africa in the qualifiers of the AFCON, this will be a totally different ball game.

Nonetheless, the Super Eagles are ready for the match and the players will do their jobs on the field of play to ensure they qualify into the semi-finals.

“We are ready and we are going to show it tomorrow. This match is totally different from those in the qualifiers. We know this is going to be a difficult game against South Africa, a very fast team but we will make sure to make Nigerians proud”, the former Watford striker said.

He added, “We have to do our job because this is going to be a tough game. I’m satisfied I give my best and I don’t look at the criticism”.

“I’m thinking of the team, if I don’t score and we still won I am satisfied. Against Cameroon it was a difficult game and tomorrow it is going to be another tough one”.

Odion Ighalo has scored 3 goals for his side and is currently the joint top scorer with Senegal's Sadio Mane at the AFCON tournament.
