AFCON 2019: Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah interacts With Black Stars ahead of Tunisia clash

The Minister for Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah visited the Black Stars team at their training grounds on Sunday evening ahead of the crucial round of 16 match against Tunisia.

Ghana is seeking to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament but will have to first go past the Carthage Eagles later this evening when the two teams lock horns at the Ismailia Stadium.

Whiles wrapping up their training at the Suez Canal Sports Complex yesterday, the Minister paid the team a visit to interact and motivate the technical team as well as the players ahead of the fixture.

The Minister who will be in the stands together with some top officials to watch the match urged the players to do their best to ensure they dispatch their round of 16 opponent in order to secure qualification into the quarter-finals stage.

This will be the eight time Ghana will be playing the Tunisians at the AFCON tournament. In the last 7 meetings, the West African side has managed to win as many as six and only draw once.

Meanwhile, the North African country who are yet to record a victory at this year’s tournament looks very determined to finally have the final laugh over their bullies.

The match will be played at the Ismailia Stadium at 19:00GMT.

The team that emerges victorious today will face Madagascar at the quarter-finals stage.
