Gabon won their first game in the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations 1-0 against Comoros. Aaron-Salem Boupendza scored their first goal at the tournament. Louis Ameka Autchanga assisted their first goal at the tournament.

Coach Patrice Neveu started the tournament without talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina.

The latest reports reveal that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina are still sidelined. Neveu and his charges will have to face Ghana without the duo.

The 33rd Africa Cup of Nations tournament is their eighth participation. The Panthers first participated in the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia 1994.

Ghana

The Black Stars started their Africa Cup of Nations campaign on a bad note losing 1-0 to Morocco on Monday afternoon.

Coach Milovan Rajevac and captain Andre Ayew are however positive that the Black Stars can still advance to the next round.

Dreams FC player Philemon Baffour is the latest player to join the team. Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus is still yet to join the squad in Cameroon.

Captain Andre Ayew according to reports did not train on Wednesday due to the head injury he suffered against Morocco on Monday.

Ayew also stated after the game against Morocco that he hasn’t been well.

The big question here is whether the Al Sadd attacker will be ready to feature in the game against Gabon.
