Afriyie Barnieh must come to terms with Hearts of Oak - Frederick Moore on contract extension brouhaha

Former Managing Director of Hearts of Oak Frederick Moore has urged Afriyie Barnieh to come to a compromise with the club over contract extension brouhaha.

The former Rahimo forward is the biggest name on the domestic scene having featured for Ghana's Under-20, Black Meteors, Black Galaxies and the Black Stars.

The 21-year-old Ghana international whose current contract expire on December 17 is being chased by a host of clubs abroad.

Barnieh is struggling to agree a new contract at the club as he nears the expiration of his contract at Hearts of Oak.

The World Cup star has been discussing his future with the Ghanaian giants for the past one year but there is yet to be a major breakthrough in the negotiations.

At the moment, it is said talks have reached a stalemate and it is likely the forward will leave the Phobians when his contract expires on December 17.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Frederick Moore entreated Barnieh to come to a compromise with the Phobians as he believes no player is bigger than the club.

“I hope the two of them will come to a compromise on the issue at hand. Hearts of oak should do everything to retain the player and Barnieh must try and come to a compromise with the club because no player can be great without a club”

Barnieh made the Black Stars 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but did not feature in any of three games of the national team at the mundial.
