Aguero extends City stay

Sergio Aguero hopes he can complete a decade with Manchester City after extending his current deal with the club by another year.

The Argentina international has penned an extension that will keep him at the 2017/18 Premier League champions until June 2021.

The prolific 30-year-old striker has scored 204 goals in 299 matches for City since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

He is City's all-time leading scorer and has nine Premier League hat-tricks to his name, the most recent coming against Huddersfield Town in August.

Aguero, who has found the net 146 times in 211 Premier League games for City, told the club's official website: "I am happy for this additional year. My idea was being here for 10 years. I've been here for seven years, it's going to be 10 when the contract expires.

"Hopefully, that's going to happen. This was the main reason I signed."

Aguero has already scored five goals this season and is 10/3 to be the leading Premier League goalscorer in 2018/19.

He has won three Premier League titles during his time with the club as well as three League Cups and has been named as City's Player of the Year twice - in 2012 and 2015.

Pep Guardiola's team are 4/6 to win the Premier League title again this term and can be backed at 1/6 to bounce back from their Champions League loss to Lyon by beating Cardiff City on Saturday. They are 8/13 to keep a clean sheet against Neil Warnock's winless team, while Aguero is 15/8 to score two or more goals in the match.
