Ahmed Awuah's Parma thump Monza in Italy's Primavera division

Published on: 06 October 2020

Italy's  Primavera 2 division commenced their 2020/21 season over the weekend with Parma's U19 side hosting Monza in their first league encounter.

In the mix was 19-year-old Ghanaian teenager Ahmed Awuah who was introduced in the 70th minute with Parma leading by a goal to nil. Monza had threaten to equalise on separate occasions but to no avail.

Ahmed brought a layer of stability to their midfield with his calm assured presence on the ball. His drive, intelligence and vision to create scoring opportunities propelled Parma to score two additional goals to put the game beyond Monza.

Praised highly for his ability to break down attacks and ball recoveries, the athletic midfielder became instrumental for Parma in his first season last year in Italy's Primavera championship.

Ahmed scored three goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances last season.
