Al Ahly striker confident of Black Stars call up despite being continuously overlooked

Ghanaian Egypt based striker John Antwi says he is optimistic he is going to get a call up to the Black Stars despite the persistent snub by the technical team.

The on loan Ahly striker who is currently with El Maqasa has been on tremendous form for the club where he scored a hatrick last Thursday in his sides 4-1 win over El Naer Taden.

The 24 year old increased his tally at El Maqasa to ten goals since joining from El-Ahly.

“Of course it is the dreams of every footballer to play for his nation so yes, I expect a call up,” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com.

“I think at the right time, I will also get my chance. It is up to the technical handlers.

“I will continue to do my part by performing well at club level and leave the rest to the technical team.

“But I am sure when the time is right, I will also get a call up.”

The former Eleven Wise striker has been in Egypt since 2013 and he is one of the top performing foreigners in North Africa.
