Alan Pardew Disappointed by Refereeing Decisions in Palace's 2-1 Home Loss to Man Utd

Alan Pardew has voiced his disappointment with decisions made by match officials in his side's 2-1 home loss to Manchester United, saying:"I thought the first goal was a call the linesman should have seen - I thought it was offside even from where I was standing."

Turning his attention to decisions made by matchday referee, Craig Pawson, Pardew commented: "The decision [for the first goal] was a tough one for us, and there were a couple of bad ones in that half against us.There were plenty of fouls in the game and I felt he could have let it flow a bit more."

With only one win in their previous nine games, the Eagles now sit just three points above the relegation zone in 16th.

Referring to Marcos Rojo's dangerous two-footedchallenge on Wilfried Zaha - that only earned the Argentine a yellow card - the Palace boss said: "From the sideline it did look bad, and looking back on it he jumps up and it could be a red card."

Refusing to blame this decision on Palace's ninth loss of the season, he added:"I don't want to hinge on that really because for large periods of the game Man United were good, and we were very resilient which was good to see."

Twitter, as per usual, had more to say about this challenge than Pardew did:

Pardew then went on to praise his side - despite defeat - saying:"I have to look at my team and say that we were committed tonight. We tried to make it very difficult for Man United but offensively I thought we could have done a little bit better in the first half, but we certainly deserved to come in at 0-0.

"In the second half we had a good little spell and got a great goal but it was a shame we couldn't kick on from there, and at the end we were undone by two of the best players. I feel for my team because they've given everything tonight."
