Alexander Djiku has expressed his disappointment following Strasbourg's poor start to 2020/21 Ligue 1 season.

The Racers suffered their second consecutive defeat of the season as they lost 2-0 to Nice at home on Saturday.

Nice took the lead courtesy Kasper Dolberg's strike from the penalty spot in the 37th minute of the game before Danish bagged his brace to clinch all three points for the visitors in the 59th minute.

"We were keen to do well at home. In first, even if Nice had the ball, we were not in danger until this first goal," said Djiku during a post-match conference as quoted by sportsworldghana.com.

"We are obviously disappointed with these first two results. We have two weeks to work well and ensure that everyone comes back to their full potential."

Djiku has been a subject of transfer speculation with reports indicating that he wants to leave the club after just one year at the French side.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to several clubs in Europe following his exploits last season in Ligue 1.

He joined Strasbourg from Caen last summer and has since been a key cog of the team, making 25 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring once, and providing one assist.
