Alexander Djiku ready to fight to keep center-back role at RC Strasbourg

French-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Alexander Djiku has set his sight on working his socks off to keep hold of a center-back position at RC Strasbourg this season.

The defender joined the French Ligue 1 outfit from Caen in 2019 but only served as a stop-gap player for the most part of the 2019/2020 season, filling in positions when necessary.

After working tirelessly, he has finally merited a place in the first eleven at the start of the 2020/2020 football season.

During a French Ligue 1 encounter against OG Nice last weekend, Alexander Djiku was deployed in his favorite position when his RC Strasbourg outfit, unfortunately, suffered a 2-0 defeat.

In a subsequent interview, the Ghanaian says he hopes he keeps the role in the team throughout the season.

“Basically, when I arrived in Strasbourg, it was to occupy this position, after the coach needed me to fill in the gaps. Now I am happy to have found a place of holder in this position and I hope to have it as long as possible”, Alexander Djiku said as quoted by Alsa'Sports.
