Alexis Sanchez Suggests His Teammates Should Copy His Mentality If Arsenal Are to Win the Title

Published on: 04 November 2016

Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez has revealed what keeps him motivated as a player, whilst hinting that his teammates need to display similar qualities if the club are to win the Premier League title at the end of the season.

The Chilean has blossomed into becoming the Gunners first choice striker in the current campaign and has already bagged himself eight goals. Sanchez's impressive form has meant that he now appears the team'sfirst choice front man, ahead of Olivier Giroud.

When discussing the secrets to his success, Sanchez told theMirrorthat it was his mentality that kept him hungry.

He said:"You have to play at 100 per cent in every game.

"When you finish playing football nobody will remember you.I play every match as if it were my last and that motivates me to do the best I can every day."

Having revealed what makes him tick, the forward then suggested that his teammates should view each match in a similar way and should remain focused on the task in hand, if they wish to claim their first Premier League title since 2004.

Sanchez added:I am hearing the same (about their title ambitions)but now it depends on the players to be focused on becoming champions, that is our ambition.

More than hunger, what we were missing last season was the little details that can go against you in a game. Those are the things that mean that you have to be 100 per cent focused.

It depends on every player to take care of themselves and to wake up on a match day with the batteries fully charged."

Despite slipping to defeat to Liverpool on the opening day of the season, the Gunners remain unbeaten since then and find themselves joint top of the league with both Manchester City and Liverpool.

And Arsenal's top scorer for the current season believes that the squad may already be showing signs of improvement from last year, arguing that his teammates look hungrier this time around.

Sanchez said:To be fresh and ready and to take advantage of the balls when they come. Like we did against Burnley when we won 1-0. These little things helped us to score and the game finished.

Now I see them (the squad) extra-motivated. They have a hunger to win things.
