Alhaji Grusah attributes match fixing in Ghana Premier League to poverty

Veteran football administrator, Alhaji Karim Grusah has shared that he believes the match fixing allegations  in the Ghana Premier League are as a result of poverty.

The final weekend of 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league was marred by bizzare results recorded at various match venues.

Oh the back of the games, it has emerged that the game between Ashanti Gold SC and Inter Allies was fixed with accusations that officials of the home team used the game tor betting.

Speaking on the allegation, Alhaji Grusah says these things are happening because of poverty that has stricken the clubs.

“It’s because of poverty and GFA are also not vigilant enough,” the King Faisal owners said in an interview.

The experienced football administrator added, “It will affect Ghana Football as a whole. Our players’ value will reduce.”
