Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Cofie believes that racism is still rife because a number of people have learned to live with it and asked that all hands should be on deck to fight the disease.

The 28 year old also added that education should be done from childhood to combat racism. He also called for severe punishments for racists to deter others.

"Racism is the greater pandemic which has eluded us for soo many years because we have accepted and learned to live with it. I believe there should be education from childhood since no one is born racist," he told Arthur Legacy Sports.

"I also believe that our white brothers needs to stand with us when we are racially abused to show their support and solidarity in real life and not only on social media. There should also be severe punishments to serve as a deterrent to others. There’s is strength in unity therefore all hands should be on deck to help fight racism all over the world."

The former Sporting Gijon player made 11 Super Lig appearances before its suspension this season.
