Amartey feature for Leicester U-23 in their 2-1 win against Villarreal

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey was in action for Leicester City’s U-23 team on Wednesday when they posted a 2-1 win over Villarreal team B in the Premier League International Cup.

The two clubs locked horns in a Group A encounter of the competition at the Holmes Park looking to grab all 3 points.

Amartey who has become surplus to requirement under new Eagles boss Brendan Rodgers was handed a starting role for the U-23 team of the Foxes on the matchday.

He was solid at the back and worked hard with his teammates to eventually emerge as 2-1 winners.

The 24-year-old Black Stars asset lasted the entire duration of the match, making his impact felt throughout the match.

He is thought to have interest from several clubs in Europe and might secure a move away from the King Power Stadium in the January transfer window.
