Ghanaian international, Samuel Darpoh has disclosed that he would love to return to former club, AmaZulu FC.

The midfielder left the South African top-flight league club following the change in owners and managers at the club which saw Benny McCarthy becoming the new head coach.

Subsequently, Samuel Darpoh left the club and has now disclosed that the decision was necessary to ensure he gets playing time.

Speaking to the Siya crew in an interview, the Ghanaian midfielder says now that the coach is no longer with the team, he would love to return to AmaZulu.

“AmaZulu FC are everything to me. They took me from nowhere and made me a better person. I just left because of not getting game-time. I never had personal or one on one conversation with coach Benni McCarthy. For a season I didn't get a chance and I thought maybe I should leave and coach Clinton Larsen came and saved me,” Samuel Darpoh said.

The young midfielder continued, "The change of ownership affected older players at the club but I wouldn't say it was a reason I wasn't getting game-time. The coach decides on which players he wants, so it was nothing to do with the club's owners.

"Yes, I would like to return to AmaZulu FC at some point. I love that club, anything can happen in football and if they come, well I will definitely accept.”
