Ancelotti makes improvement plea

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has warned his players to improve quickly after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday.

The reigning champions looked set to replace Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table when goals from Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben had them two-up by the half-time interval at the Allianz Arena.

We were slow, lacking intensity, not compact enough. We didn't have the game under control like we usually do.

However, Wolfsburg were given a route ack into the game when Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, who was playing because of the injury to regular number one Manuel Neuer, fumbled Maxi Arnold's 25-yard free-kick into the net on 56 minutes.

Daniel Didavi then headed in an equaliser seven minutes from time as Bayern remain second in the table and are level on 13 points with Dortmund having played a game more.

Ancelotti was not impressed with Bayern and warned his players that they will lose to Paris St Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday if they put in a repeat performance.

The Italian tactician said on the club's website: "We didn't play like we wanted to. We were slow, lacking intensity, not compact enough. We didn't have the game under control like we usually do. That is why the game went like this.

"Sven made a mistake, but the result came from the fact we didn't play well as a team.

"In Paris we have to play differently."

Bayern, who are 3/20 to retain the Bundesliga title this season, are 14/5 to win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek. The hosts are priced at 19/20 to win and the draw is 3/1.
