ANCELOTTI: "WE'LL TAKE THE POINT"

Published on: 03 October 2019

Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Napoli could have done better in Genk but insisted that a point on the road is ultimately a decent return in the Champions League

Speaking after the 0-0 draw in Belgium, the coach began: “We played well. We created lots of openings and bossed the game. Perhaps our finishing needed to be a bit sharper but we hit the woodwork three times. It's normal to be disappointed about not winning but we must look forward. A point away from home is useful – we'll take it.

“We're still in running for qualification. We've beaten Liverpool and we can be optimistic about the future. I don't think this draw make it harder for us to reach the knockout stage. We're masters of our own destiny. An away point in the Champions League is important. If we are to have any difficulties, it will be because of what happens further down the line.

“The Champions League is not easy and a point can make a difference come the end. We have four more games to play and we can do well in them. This result certainly doesn't diminish our confidence about going through."

On Arek Milik and Hirving Lozano: “I'm happy with both of them. Their movement was good. Overall, it was a good performance.
