ANCELOTTI: "WE'RE UNITED"

Napoli's coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke with positive energy in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

"We're raring to go, we're motivated and we'll play with character and personality."

The boss was asked about the mood in the Napoli camp ahead of the clash at Liverpool. "The mood is linked to the knowledge that we must do a lot more. We're preparing for a very important game that could see us achieve our first target of the season, which is qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League."

"It's not now or never. We have two more games to try to accomplish our goal and this is the first of them. We're all committed to giving our best to find a solution during this not-so-happy time. We all know very well that we're underperforming.

"We've managed to show our potential in the Champions League so far, while we've been inconsistent and not so brilliant in the league. We're disappointed about that, but at the same time, we're fully motivated to make improvements with immediate effect."

When asked if he has been through such difficult spells in his career, Ancelotti responded, "A coach experiences so many tough spells during his career, but we all have the desire and commitment to find the best possible solution here. Regardless of whatever they say on the outside, there's unity in terms of the aims of the club, the coach and the team. When that's the case, you manage to pull through in situations like this."

Jurgen Klopp said that he fears Napoli, to which Ancelotti responded, "Klopp knows us well and he knows it won't be easy for them either. If Klopp knows that, so do Liverpool as a team. I'm expecting them to be very focused and I think it'll be a tough, but also exciting match."

In terms of what sort of Napoli side he expects to see tomorrow, Ancelotti said, "The players are physically and mentally ready to play in a top-level game. We need to show bravery and character and leave our fears at home. We have a chance to respond on the pitch and we're also motivated psychologically. Tomorrow's game will be tough and fascinating in equal measure. These are the sorts of matches where you can turn things around and we'll approach it with plenty of energy."
