Andre Ayew sees a ton of positives after competing in the 2022 Kirin Cup in Japan and has backed Black Stars to improve ahead of the FIFA World Cup later this year.

The top-four nation tournament gave coach Otto Addo the chance to assess the team ahead of the global showpiece which kicks off in November.

Ghana lost their opening game 4-1 to host nation, Japan but bounced backed to winning ways by beating Chile 3-1 on penalties to finish third following a 0-0 draw.

"We have a very good squad which is growing as you can see the depth of the squad," Ayew said as quoted by CitiSports.

"We went to Japan with a whole different setup due to a lot of injuries and the Covid issues.

"Generally I think we ended really well and we have hope that when the full squad is in especially those that have proven a point we can have a good gel up."

Ghana have been placed in Group H together with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea for the World Cup.
