Ghana’s Andre Ayew and his Swansea City team have been knocked out from the English Championship playoffs after losing 3-1 to Brentford this evening.

The two teams locked horns in a crucial 2nd leg encounter of the Championship playoffs at the Griffin Park this evening hoping for the best result to advance to the final stage.

Fortunately for the home team, they found their rhythm right from the start of the game and went on to take the lead on the 11th minute courtesy a strike from Ollie Watkins.

Four minutes later, an equalizer from Emiliano Marcondes after he was assisted by star man Said Benrahma doubled the lead for Brentford, turning the tie in their favour.

Though Swansea City will stage a fight in a bid to score, their efforts could not yield any result as they went into the break.

Just a minute into the second half, Rico Henry assisted Bryan Mbeumo for Brentford’s 3rd goal of the day, ultimately proving to be the insurance goa.

A good fight from Swansea City only produced 1 goal with Rhian Brewster finding the back of the net on the 78th minute.

With Brentford’s 3-1 win today, they are cruising to the final stage of the Championship playoffs with a 3-2 aggregate win over Swansea City.

Unfortunately, Ayew and his teammates will have to try again another time.
