Annor Walker's exit part of our plans - FC Samartex chief Paul Anyaba

Published on: 18 July 2023

Business Development Manager for FC Samartex, Paul Anyaba, has revealed that Annor Walker’s exit from the club was mutual and is part of changes expected as the club transitions to a different phase.

The veteran Ghanaian coach joined the Samreboi-based club on a two-year deal prior to the start of the 2022/23 season from Great Olympics.

However, after guiding the debutant side to a 10th-place finish, Walker has left the club to reunite with his former side, Great Olympics again.

“At the end of the season, we sat and we felt that we should go our separate ways. Project Samartex is in phases so everyone will come and do what he can," Anyaba told Citi Sports.

"At the end of every phase, other people will come…Coach Annor Walker came and finished his project. We are moving to a different phase and we need a different coach to take us there," he added.

Meanwhile, FC Samartex are yet to confirm Annor Walker's replacement.
