Ansgar Knauff: Ghanaian winger given new role at Frankfurt

Ghanaian winger Ansgar Knauff has been given a new role to operate at German Bundesliga side Frankfurt following the departure of Filip Kostic.

The German-born Ghanaian who is on-loan from Dortmund until June 2023 has been deployed to operate from the left flanks despite being a right-footed player.

His new role come as a result of Christopher Lenz injury and Filip Kostic departure from the club in the summer.

The 20-year-old played an unusual role when his side defeat Stuttgart 3-1 in the Bundesliga last Saturday.

After joining the club in January 2022 on loan, he helped the club to lift the UEFA Europa League title.

He also scooped home the young player of the competition prize last season due to his impressive performance.

Ansgar Knauff has made 7 appearances in the German Bundesliga this season, providing 1 assist in the process.
