Antoine Griezmann's Marketing Advisor Dreams of Big Manchester United Move This Summer

Published on: 06 February 2017

This is no news for anyone: there is something going on between Antoine Griezmann and Manchester United. We don't know exactly what yet, but there's definitely something.

Of course, Manchester United hunger for signingthe best players and their latest huge signing, Paul Pogba, being one of Griezmann closest friends fed the transfer rumors sending the Atlético striker to Manchester this summer, probablyfor a fee exceeding the one of his fellow countryman.

Canal+ in France reporting Antoine Griezmann has agreed to join Manchester United in the summer. They say Utd will pay €100m release clause

French magazine So Foot's latest issue features a large article about Antoine Griezmann, with a pretty interesting interview of the Frenchman's 'image advisor'Sébastien Bellencontre, who was contractually linked to the player until last December, according to the paper (although we don't know if that contract have been renewed or not).

"When I read articles about a hypotheticaltransfer to Manchester United, I have to say that it would would be the perfect scenario marketing wise," Bellencontre declared, openly embracing the rumors around his client. "He would play in Beckham's former club, his idol, with the mythic number 7 on his back..."

Bellencontre clearly said that making a move to Manchester would be the logical next step in Griezmann's career, with the objective of making him a mix of two iconic players: David Beckham and Zinédine Zidane.

"Beckham because he's his idol, but also because I want to make him a fashion icon that goes beyond his football career. Zidane for the French DNA, simplicity, family values, and loyalty too. We want Antoine to finish his career with Puma, for example," Bellencontre explained to So Foot.

However, this is not Bellencontre who manages Griezmann's footballing career, and quite frankly that would be pretty sad, meaning that marketing would've taken over every other aspect of a transfer.

Actually, Griezmann's career advisor Eric Olhats also had his word on Griezmann's potential Manchester United move, being a lot less enthusiastic than his colleague:

"l say nicely that there are things that I don't have control over in marketing, and that Sébastien does not have control over when it comes to football (...)The football aspect of things will be a complete priority. If there is a departure, it will be due to where he plays on the pitch, to the players around him."

Recently, rumor had it than José Mourinho was extremely seduced by the idea of Griezmann joining his team, and judging by that, this already promises to be the most exciting saga of the upcomingsummer transfer window.
