Antonio Conte Hails Chelsea's 'Fantastic Run' After Sealing Twelfth Straight Win

Published on: 26 December 2016

Antonio Conte was delighted after an overpowering performance from Chelsea against Bournemouth gave them a twelfth consecutive Premier League victory and broke the previous club record.

Pedro's double and Eden Hazard's penalty sealed a 3-0 win for the Blues, ensuring that wins for Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United would not close the gap between themselves and those clubs in the title race.

"I think today, our opponent changed the system to try to stop us, and I think we played a good game." Conte toldBBC Sport.

"We could have scored more. We created many chances to score more goals but I'm happy for the attitude of the players."

Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante were unavailable for the game through suspension, but this did not hamper Chelsea.

"This is the first time that we've played without a real forward, and this situation is the best [solution] for us."

Conte: "I won't let Batshuayi go on loan. He's a new player for #Chelsea and to go on loan now is a defeat for the club and for me."

Despite Costa's absence, Michy Batshuayi was not used as the striker for Chelsea. Many wondered why this might have been the case.

"He's a young player, he has great talent. He's adapting, and in the future I will trust in him.

"I am pleased. To win twelve games in a row in this league is not easy, and it's a fantastic run. It's important now to continue this run; now, when everyone faces you, they want to beat you."
