Antonio Conte Says He's 'Capable of Murdering Anyone' in Chelsea's Premier League Quest

Published on: 08 February 2017

The first things that spring to mind at the mention of Antonio Conte's name are passion and, let's be fair, slightly manic.

They're traits which have surprisingly attracted the Chelsea manager to the Premier League masses, with his ruthless touchline exuberance slightly endearing in a sort of, crazy way.

However, during the Blues potential title-defining 3-1 victory over Arsenal, the vocal Italian was certainly not pleased with something on the pitch, in fact, his temperament and craving for perfection got the better of him.

When I see something that isn't going right, I am capable of murdering anyone! he said on Italian TV, as perMirror.

I was angry because (N'Golo) Kante was supposed to track back in place of (Victor) Moses, who had gone into the box to mark the sixth Arsenal man on the corner. He didn't do that and I took it out on Alessio. He's been my right hand man and thus, unfortunately, my victim for many years.

Conte went on to praise the input of his French summer acquisition but stated that there is still room for improvement.

He is an extraordinary player who we know for his quantity but he brings quality as well, said the former midfielder.

But he has to improve in his build-up play. I see in him how I was as a player. N'Golo can improve in his forward passing “ a weakness I had too.

"But he knows how to join together play, cover a lot of ground, he is humble and friendly. He was a great buy.

The Italian's managerial genius has been on show for all to see this season after his revolutionary switch to 3-4-3 propelled the Blues to the summit of the division.

Nevertheless, his temperament is certainly something to be feared; maybe that's why his row with Diego Costa ended so quickly with the Spaniard quickly making amends for his actions.
