"I think it's the same atmosphere (as under Ferguson)," Valencia said. "We have that security of playing under a top manager. It's something you can definitely say.

I think a lot has changed. The atmosphere, we play with more confidence, with more happiness and with more responsibility."

"When you bring in new players, top-quality players, that changes the atmosphere of the team. I think we're a lot more happy.

We still have that responsibility on our shoulders, but a lot has changed."

"I think we have to create the fear factor ourselves and we have to put the fear into teams when they come to Old Trafford.

The opposition has to feel that when they come here, they have to feel the pressure, that we are playing well, doing things well and we playing with responsibility and we are pressing them.

That is what we want teams to feel every time they come to Old Trafford."

Ecuadorian Valencia also commented on recent praise he has received himself playing in the right back position.

Former United right back Gary Neville has said Valencia has been one of Mourinho's most consistent performers as well as the manager himself stating he feels the Ecuador international is the best right back in the Premier League.

"I have to say thanks to the manager for these words, he's definitely given me an incredible amount of confidence.

I think it's totally acceptable to say I have improved my game since then and he's given me a lot of game time, which has been very important."
