Midfielder Appiah McCarthy has parted ways with Ghana Premier League giants Ashanti Gold SC following the expiration of his contract.

The 23-year-old joined the Miners from Division One League side  Asokwa Deportivo in 2017 on a three-year deal.

He made nine appearances and scored one for Ashgold in the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League due to the coronavirus pandemic

"He [Appiah McCarthy] is currently a free agent because his contract with AshantiGold SC has ended," a close source to the player told Kickgh.com

"His contract with the club [AshantiGold SC] ended last month."

He has been one of the consistent performers for the former Ghana Premier League champions since joining them in 2017.

McCarthy underwent trials at Swiss Challenge League side FC Chiasso last year but failed to secure a deal due to injury.
