Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has stated that arrangements are been made alongside Ghana's Embassy in Turkey to transport Christian Atsu's body to Ghana.

The late winger's body was found on Saturday morning, his elder brother, twin sister, and an officer of the embassy were present at the site when the body was found.

Atsu, who was on the books of Turkish side Hatayspor, was trapped under the rubble together with the club’s sporting director Taner Savut.

Both could not be found despite days of searching, with the football world uniting in praying for their safety and hoping for their rescue.

Tributes have poured in from far and near following the confirmation of Atsu’s unfortunate demise.

Christian Atsu played for various European clubs, such as Chelsea, FC Porto, Newcastle United, Everton, and Bournemouth.
