Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists Manchester City are fortunate to be eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal face Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening with both sides seeking to establish themselves as City's main challengers heading into the busy festive period.
Wenger said: "That's why they always have that little bit of an advantage in the end. I think they were a little bit lucky a few times this year and overall we have just to focus on our results and not focus on Manchester City.
"I don't know if everyone is playing for second place. We are going step by step at the moment, we are too far."
