Arsenal close in on BVB scout responsible for Lewandowski, Aubameyang signings

Arsenal are reportedly close to finalising the appointment of Sven Mislintat as their new head of recruitment.

The Borussia Dortmund man is expected to be officially announced as an Arsenal employee in the next few days and the Gunners have had to pay Dortmund a fee of around £1.8m in order to make the appointment.

Mislintat is in line to replace Steve Rowley, who has served as Arsenal's head of recruitment since 1996 and set to leave the club at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The appointment of Mislintat will be a huge boost to the Gunners.

It is the 45-year-old who is credited with discovering and unearthing stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, USA international Christian Pulisic and Ousmane Dembele, who left Dortmund to join Barcelona over the summer in a deal worth £135.5m.
